Senior high school Report: Klahowya volleyball eliminates Kingston

The Klahowya Eagles plus visiting Kingston Buccaneers battled inside a loser-out Olympic League volleyball tournament match before the Eagles pulled out a 3-0 win in an Olympic League volleyball tournament loser-out match Wednesday. Game scores were 25-19, 25-17, 25-13.

œWe were trying to adjust on offense from the last time all of us played them, ” said Klahowya coach Dragan Karadzic of the Bucs™ defense, which did a good work of stopping Klahowya™s middle hitters in their last meeting.

Klahowya was led by the eight kills from Alexa Orkiolla and London Bockenstedt plus Ciera Eisle™s seven kills, seven digs and three aces. Nicole Compton, who was moved up in the serving rotation, finished with seven aces, eight digs and six kills.

The Eagles (10-4) will encounter No . 1 North Kitsap (14-0) at 2 p. m. Saturday in the semifinals in Sequim. Kingston (7-7) saw its season reach an end, but improved from 5-7 a year ago.

Port Angeles (8-5) and Sequim (10-5) will face off for the second time this week in the various other semifinal at 2 p. meters. The winners play for the tournament title at 4: 30 g. m. and No. 1 seed to the Class 2A West Central District tournament. The losers will play with 4: 30 p. m. for the third/fourth seed. The district tournament is Nov. 8-9 at Franklin Pierce High School in Tacoma.

The No . 1 and 2 seeds will have a first-round bye into district. The third/fourth seeds will play within loser-out matches against the South Puget Sound/Seamount League™s No . 4 with no. 7 seeds.

There are five berths to the 2A state tournament, which is November. 15-16 at Pierce College Fort Steilacoom in Lakewood.
