A mother bear and 2 cubs wandered in to a Sierra Madre neighborhood on Sunday. It’s not entirely uncommon for bears to go to SoCal’s foothill communities.
A Sierra Madre neighborhood experienced some unexpected visitors upon Sunday morning: the mother bear and 2 cubs.
They will climbed some trees and ate avocados and berries. The cubs appeared wet, so it’s possible they required a dip in the neighborhood swimming pool, authorities mentioned.
Officers were able to immediate the bears returning to the wilderness.
Southern California’s foothill communities are no strangers to ursine visitors. The actual bears often come down from Angeles National Woodland looking for as well as water.
Perhaps the most famous neighborhood bear has been “Meatball, ” also called “Glen Bearian” within nearby Glendale. Which bear’s visits became therefore frequent – once pilfering meatballs from the garage refrigerator — that he had to be lured having a trail of fries and bacon, sedated and taken to an animal haven.
Meatball will feature prominently within Glendale’s 100th entry in the Rose Parade. The float will celebrate other native wildlife, too.
